Shokz Guide Review ? Is Shokz Starcraft 2 Guide a Scam?

Is Shokz Starcraft 2 Guide a scam? I must admit that I was quite skeptical about this strategy guide and did not think that this information would be worth paying for.

However, ever since getting the guide and seeing the strategies and content inside, I must say that they are pretty unique and actually much more effective than the typical ones that you might read about in online forums.

Is Shokz Guide Really Better Than Other Starcraft 2 Guides On The Internet?

There are very detailed strategies explanations and campaigns walk throughs that really make the game more fun to play. As compared to other SC2 guides that I have also looked at, I would say that this one is much clearer and concise and I would recommend all players who are intending to compete with other players online to check out the strategies inside.

What Information Can You Find Inside The Starcraft 2 Shokz Guide and Will You Be Able to Use It?

The first couple of sections are the online dictionary and beginners’ guide, which is really meant for new players who are not very familiar with this game. However, this is really a very small section of the entire guide. After this, all the tips and strategies are made for professional players who really want to perfect their Starcraft 2 game play and to learn everything about the game.

Learning Different Stracraft 2 Strategies For Different Races In Shokz Guide

Other than 1v1 strategies, there are also more specific strategies for different races and how they should be used against other races on different maps. Starcraft 2 report guide for counter units

For Starcraft 2, every unit, regardless of race, has its own strength and weaknesses. So it’s up to you to build the right counter units for you to win the game. Similarly, if your opponent plans to adopt an entirely different approach, you would also have to change your game play.

Study the list of Starcraft 2 units below and you should be able to find the right counter units against them, you have to analyse which categories the units belong to.

There are 3 categories; light or armoured, biological or mechanical and massive or non-massive. You can view these categories by selecting the unit and looking at the bottom of your screen.
Here is a summarised list of Starcraft 2 units with damage bonus points:

Reaper: + damage to light units
Marauder: + damage to armored
Ultralisk: + damage to armored
Ghost: + damage to light
Phoenix: + damage to light air
Thor: + damage to light air units
Immortal: + damage to armored
Corruptor: + damage to massive

To identify the counter units, you can predict that a unit which deals bonus damage to another unit class applies to the all the units of that class. For instance, the marauder deals bonus damage to armored units like Thors, Roaches and Stalkers.

However not all units complies with this chart. For example, the reaper gives bonus damage to light units but has a weak counter when fighting the ghost. Reason being is that both the Reaper and ghost are considered light units and only do bonus damage to other light units. On the other hand, the ghost contains higher HP and does more damage than the reaper.

Conclusively, the Ghost counters the Reaper. The Ultralisk also follows the same concept. Many would agree that the Ultralisk can counter an armoured unit.

This unit deals bonus damage to armored units. The Immortal is of the armored unit class, so you might think Ultralisks can counter them. But you are wrong. It is because the Immortals have higher bonus damage to armor units as compared to the Ultralisk. As a result, the Ultralisk will be defeated by an Immortal in a 1v1 situation.

More so, any unit in Starcraft 2 may end up getting screwed because its very obvious that most players seldom use one type of unit to either attack or defend. For example, it is common for protoss player to combine Immortals with Stalkers. The Marauder will counter the Stalker. On the other hand, the Marauder ends up being countered by the Immortals. Therefore it is not conclusive to say the Marauder is a counter to the Stalkers because the presence of Immortals is there to protect the Stalkers from getting damage. The situation will only turn in favor of the Marauders if there are no Immortals.

Most amateurs fail to realize this key concept and will always remain the poor rankings. If you spend more time to know what your units are good at fighting against and understanding their weaknesses, you should not have a problem winning any battles.

Melvin Ortiz, Starcraft fanatic, realized studying strategies along with practice is vital to stay competitive through Battle.net. Align with this, he has come up with his own winnable tactics to help others troubleshoot their problems and improve their game play.

Starcraft 2 Strategies A Starcraft 2 Guide

Hardcore gamers have been using Starcraft 2 strategies to defeat most of their opponents for a very long time.  Most people who play Starcraft 2 are just casual gamers who play for recreation and they do not spend a lot of time learning and mastering strategies.  That fact alone leaves them as easy prey to more seasoned gamers and they are usually quickly defeated.  If you want to avoid losing to a more experienced gamer, than it is time to learn a few good Starcraft 2 strategies of your own.

To begin your Starcraft 2 strategy you should have a good overview of Protoss.  The most important thing to do is scout.  If you scout properly you can avoid a very large percentage of losses.  When you are scouting you need to determine if you opponent is doing a T1 rush, a T2 tech, fast expansion or an air rush.

Then your own builds should be based on the results of your scouting the enemy.  You need to determine if you should use fast tech, robotics bay, stargate, immortal, colossus or tier 1.

By scouting your opponents expansions you will be able to defeat even the most skilled gamers.  You should also watch the replays of matches to learn from your mistakes.

These are just a few of the many Starcraft 2 strategies you can learn.  If you are able to learn these techniques, you will soon find yourself competing with hardcore gamers without any problem at all.  Most of these strategies are fun and easy to learn.

Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide

A Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide would not be complete without a thorough description of all of the Protoss hotkeys.  The best thing to do is memorize them if you can.  Managing your Protoss Army is also very important.

The Protoss starting build order is extremely important. This is a very tedious, meticulous and complicated process.  It requires specific numbers of Pylons, Gateways, Stalkers and many other things.  The exact number of each is clearly laid out in the Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide.

A good way to increase the operating speed of a building is with a Chrono boost.  This increases reaction time although it only lasts for a few seconds.

There are several different important Protoss Units and Buildings you need to be familiar with.  Some of them are High Templars, Warp Gates and Colossus.

Some other important Starcraft 2 strategies are Rushing as Protoss, Rushing with Cannons, Protoss Walling, Colossus Micro Harass and Protoss Fast Expanding.

There are also several different Zerg strategies to familiarize yourself with.  The most popular strategies are Zerg Starting Build Order, Zerg Rushing, and the Zerg Nydus Canal Trick.  These strategies are very important to your overall Starcraft 2 Strategy.

I know all of this sounds like a lot of information especially if you are new to learning Starcraft 2 Strategies.  But once you familiarize yourself with all of the terms and tactics mastering Starcraft 2 will become easy for you.  Even if you employ just a few of them you will have a distinct advantage over your competition in the long run.

Finding the best Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide is not an easy decision but this website will give you alot of help.

My StarCraft 2 Guide, Shokz Review

<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

StarCraft 2 is still a new game, yet testers and those who had access to the beta have learned most of the ins and outs and crafted the most strategies based on their extensive time with the game. From this, several StarCraft 2 guides have begun coming out from the best players of the game, but one guide has been head and shoulders ahead of the rest. This is my StarCraft 2 guide, “Shokz review”.

I’ll start this Shokz review by mentioning a bit about what to expect when you get this StarCraft 2 guide. I should mention before we go any further that it was written chiefly by John Greenhoe, a beta tester who achieved diamond status on Battle.net in the game.

His StarCraft 2 guide is broken into multiple sections, part online in a members section and part in downloadable guide format. The downloadable part covers the basic fundamentals for players who are new to this game.

The real meat is in the members section, however. It’s made up of dozens of general strategies as well as strategies which are tailored for each race and more are being added daily. One of the best things about this StarCraft 2 guide and separates it from the rest is how it doesn’t offer generalized information. It offers a variety effective strategies depending on your race of choice and who you’re playing against including strengths and weaknesses for each along with build orders.

This is a welcome breath of fresh air compared to the guides which lump everything all into one strategy. If you try one across-the-board method, it’s likely going to work in less than 50% of the games which you play in.

In addition to the guides in the member’s section, there are dozens of videos taken from real matches which showcase effective and winning strategies firsthand which I found to be a major help, as reading something is one thing but seeing it in action and having it being explained there is so much better.

In wrapping this Shokz review up, I’ll just give you some examples of a few of the dozens of individual guides just in the general section from the members section online for this StarCraft 2 guide at the time of this article.

A complete hot key guide for whichever race you choose.

Build orders for each race to get you up and running as fast as possible. Combined with the hot key guide, first time gamers can improve their level exponentially by employing these two sections.

A section on StarCraft 2 terms/lingo so that you can hold your own with the best of them when you’re in game.

A scouting guide so that you can most effectively and safely check up on your opposition’s progress in a game.

A guide on the XEL Naga cliff trick so that you can use watch towers without being susceptible to attacks.

Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide – Choosing the Best One

Right now you have four main Starcraft 2 strategy guides released. You have Joana’s, StrategyMasters, Star2Pros, and Shokz.

Read The Shokz Starcraft 2 Mastery Guide

It can be hard knowing which ones would benefit you the most and consequently which ones benefit you the least. Hopefully I can help make this decision a little easier.

As far as prices go, StrategyMasters is the cheapest. Of course that is only for the first month, for StrategyMasters you are paying monthly, did you know? StrategyMasters is $15 for the first month and $10 afterwards, for as long as you keep it.

Now the perks to StrategyMasters guide are that it includes a forum for the members to share. I absolutely love this feature and try not to buy products without it, because anyone who knows the value of a good forum knows what I mean.

As far as the actual content goes I was less than impressed, if you are a Gold ladder player or better you might find only a little of interest. Keep in mind as the forum grows the content gets more advanced though!

Now we have Shokz guide which is only $27 right now and I think it is a great value. The downloadable portion is very nicely laid out and informative, the online portion has plenty of great video examples. It is also clear to me how dedicated a person John (the creator of Shokz) is. I’ve spoken to him on many occasions and he is very dedicated to improving his guide.

When the game releases Shokz will have a full campaign walkthrough, and its free for whoever already bought the guide. Plus its a one time fee, what more could you want?

The Star2Pros guide is the most expensive guide, being $27 every month. Be sure you know this before you buy! If you cancel the monthly payment you lose access. However, if you can afford the payment, the reason for the price becomes clear. Quite simply lots and lots of in depth content.

Lastly we have Joana’s guide which I am in the process of reviewing. Joana has a great history of making excellent guides so I’ve no doubt this one will be too. It is also a one time payment of $27, see the pattern? As far as content goes I don’t have much to tell you yet, but I’ll be doing an in depth article review soon.

Starcraft 2 General Guide Chapter 6: Meta Game Part 2: Knowing thy self

[fivefilters.org: unable to retrieve full-text content]

Playing to win is simple in concept: Do everything you can to maximize your chances of victory. Give yourself no arbitrary metagame rules. Nothing is “cheesy” if it makes you win. If you think it will lead to your victory, then do it. There’s more to it than that though.

  • Play with the right mindset. Your mental state is extremely important to your success.
    • Don’t invest your emotions in the outcome of the game.
    • Don’t expect to win.
    • To play at your best, you have to give up the intent or confidence to win. You must invest all of that intent and confidence in making the right decisions and playing well. You’re playing to win, not playing to want to win. Victory is an abstract concept which is achieved through a combination of many other smaller goals. Intend to achieve those goals, and you will achieve victory as well.
      • You shouldn’t feel happy that you’ve won a game; you should instead feel happy that you played well enough to succeed. The same way, you shouldn’t get upset if you lose either, and instead analyze, objectively, the cause (which goes back to the improvement section).
    • Don’t feel confident or unconfident about beating any given player. I don’t care if you’re going against the “best player” in the world. Don’t let it bother you, because if you win, now you’re the best player in the world. All that matters is that you play well, not you or your opponent’s history.
    • 1) Breathe.
    • 2) Do nothing.
    • 1) Breathe.
    • 2) Do nothing.

How to take a frustrating loss: There are two steps.

We all know what it’s like to play well, feel like you did everything right, and then lose in the end anyway, after a long game. It’s frustrating. However, you always lose for a good reason. Always remember that there is enough room to improve that no matter how you lost, there was a way you could have avoided it. So, when you are frustrated and have lost, just breathe and do nothing. Don’t say something you will regret. Just don’t act at all until you have calmed down. For some people, this happens in a fraction of a second, and for many, it can take minutes or longer to get over the frustration. Personally, years of forcing myself to think logically instead of emotionally has conditioned me to get over the frustration before I physically have a chance to speak. What it hasn’t done, however, is remove the emotion. No matter who you are, the emotional effect of frustration will linger for some time and will always hurt your performance. This is an extremely important concept to accept if you want to win.

Don’t play while frustrated. Take a break for as long as you need, or for as long as possible, before playing the next game. You might be in a tournament, but they will give you a 5 minute break (or longer) between two games, and you should take it. You might just be playing the ladder, and there’s always the urge to queue again instantly and try to avenge yourself for the loss. Don’t give into this urge. The importance of this can not be overstated, as frustration almost always leads to unnecessary losses and more frustration.

How to take an exciting win: This can be significantly harder than taking a frustrating loss. There are two steps.

Again, there is always a reason your opponent lost, and you always have room enough to improve significantly. Don’t say or do anything for at least a few moments, as again, the excitement of an important victory can affect even the most disciplined of minds into taking less than optimal actions.

This is much less obvious than with a frustrating loss, but playing immediately after an exciting victory is not a great idea. Give it at least a minute’s break, so you can gather your thoughts again, and start thinking wholly objectively again, instead of thinking about how well you just played. You need to play well in the next game too, and even positive emotions will throw you off your game.
Have fun. As with any activity, you have to be self motivated to improve and to succeed, otherwise it simply will not happen.

Starcraft 2 General Guide Chapter 5: Meta Game Part 1: Knowing thy enemy

[fivefilters.org: unable to retrieve full-text content]

SC2 is largely dictated by metagame, perhaps more so than the typical player realizes. Metagame is the game outside of the game. For example, if you are a Protoss player, and have just watched a Protoss player attempt an early double gateway zealot aggression build 4 games in a row against other Protoss players, and then face against him, what would you do? You would probably prepare for his aggression before you even get the slightest in-game hint that he had that in store for you, just because you know that he, as a person in real life, prefers that strategy. Taking that a level up, he might know that you expect it, and do a completely different strategy, using metagame knowledge against you.

Metagame can determine how a match begins to how it ends, and can vary from region to region. For example, in the US, the most common timings and strategies that any given Terran player uses might differ substantially from the timings and strategies of the average Terran in Korea. This can lead the players who go against Terrans in the US and Korea to also create timings and strategies that differ from one another. Players naturally base strategies somewhat on what they expect the enemy to do, regardless of whether they scout it or not. This can make things more efficient for you, but also riskier.

There is not much to guide you in metagame, as there isn’t a whole lot you can do to fool someone with it, beyond the above examples. It’s just important to keep in mind that a unit or strategy may be more or less powerful simply due to how the enemy player uses entirely different units or strategies.
