Friends system online!

After much discussion about the friends and enemies system, it is now implemented and ready to use. This system allows you to add a user to your friend or enemy list, giving you benefits depending on which list they are in. Lists are a 1-way street (no requests or accepting), meaning if a user added you to their list, they won’t show up in your list, you would have to add them manually. The following benefits are applied to lists:

Friends

- You can view topics your friends have made from within your control panel

- You can mass message everyone in your friends list

- You can see if your friend is online

- Friends will have an icon next to their name

Enemies

- The user cannot send you a message (toggable setting)

- The users post will be buried so you don’t have to read it (you can toggle it open to read)

- Enemies will have an icon next to their name

Alongside the features above, you may not have a user in both a friend and enemy list (you can switch them easily). Furthermore, a user will not know they are in your enemy list unless they message you and get an error. However, you can toggle this setting to allow them to message you. Continue reading for a brief explanation of each feature.

Friend/Enemy Manager

You can manage your lists from within your control panel. Next to each user will be specific options.

- Delete: This deletes the user from your list completely

- Switch: This switches a user between lists

- Toggle Messaging: Can turn messaging on or off for an enemy

Friends Module

On the homepage and certain forum pages, a friends list will appear in the sidebar. The friends are ordered descending from their last login time. Online friends will have an icon next to their name.

Adding Users

When you visit a users profile, there will be 2 icons next to the Gallery or Report buttons. Click the friend or enemy icon to add them to the specific list. Furthermore, if you refresh the page it will notify you next to their name what list they are in.

Online/List Status

While reading a forum topic, any friend or enemy will have an icon to the right of their name (next to the date and time). Secondly, if a friend is currently online, an online icon will be present.

Buried Posts

All enemy posts within a topic will be buried (collapsed) so that all their user information and post is hidden. You can toggle open the post if you still wish to read it.

Blocked Messages

All enemies will be unable to message you. This setting can be toggled on a user by user basis.

Mass Messaging

You now have the ability to message everyone in your friends list at once. You also have the option of checking specific users to send it to.

Hope you enjoy the new feature! If you run into any bugs or problems, please report them in this thread!
