Inventory management and the systems that surround it are something we’re obviously interested in, but not something that can really be tuned until we have more of the item game fleshed out and tuned itself. It’s hard to know exactly the best way to handle inventory management when the items, types, pickup frequency, and removal frequency can’t really be measured with any real accuracy. Gold is picked up automagically, and it’s because it’s one of those things that you always want to pick up. You’d never not pick up gold, unless you’re playing Diablo II maybe. PAH-ZING! If there are other item types we feel fall into that category they may be automatically picked up when you walk over them too. We want inventory management to include player choice and interaction, and so while we’re definitely not opposed to new ideas and while we’re certainly drawing inspiration from many places, we want to maintain that buy wow goldinventory management doesn’t become an automated process. Gamasutra has published a new StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty interview with Blizzard Entertainment’s Dustin Browder. The lead game designer discussed a variety of topics related to the game including the differences between the single and multiplayer experience. Even between the single-player and the multiplayer, there have been design differences that mean there are discrepancies in terms of what units are available. DB: Totally. Four of the Very Best Strategy Games for PC

Gaming has grown tremendously in the past decade. From a niche activity pursued by geeks, it has crossed into the mainstream. Chances are, even your grandparents might have a Nintendo Wii sitting at home today, or your mom might actually be a better Guitar Hero player than you.

The past 4-5 years have seen a tremendous increase in the popularity of gaming consoles. However, there are certain kind of games that work 100 times better on a PC. Strategy and first person shooters would fall under this category. A mouse is essentia to effectively play such games (though such games are often available for consoles, but don’t have such smooth controls). So here’s a list of 4 strategy games you must have on your PC if you are a fan:

1. Age of Empires 2

Age of Empires was one of the first to effectively pull off the historical strategy game. The first part laid the foundation of the concept, but it was the sequel that brought in all the elements to create an experience that was nothing short of perfect. Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings remains one of the largest selling games of all time and promises hours upon hours of enjoyable and addictive gameplay.

2. Warcraf

tLong before World of Warcraft, the multiplayer phenomenon, there was Warcraft – the game that pretty much set the rules of strategy gaming. Pretty much most of the concepts – different buildings, units, fog of war, etc. that have become conventions in the genre were started by this game which had your human soldiers facing off against the orcs.

3. Starcraft

Blizzard is the undisputed master of strategy gaming with two of the most popular offerings in the genre – Warcraft and Starcraft. Starcraft is a space strategy game with some of the most innovative gameplay and some very creative units. A must play for all strategy gaming fans.

4. Civilization

Civilization is arguably the most popular turn based strategy game series in the world. The first part pretty much set the rules that would be followed by most turn based games. As you can imagine, the game had you controlling a civilization and leading it to complete domination over other players through military, diplomacy or trade.

Wow Gold & Mmog

Blizzard’s extremely famous MMOG & wow gold reaches new subscriber milestone two months before arrive of second extend.

Blizzard Entertainment is just over two months away from relieving the second extend pack to its genre-controlling massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King. And regardless of enlarged contest this year from the likes of Funcom’s Age of Conan and EA Mythic’s War hammer Online, Blizzard has tried to continue to stave off WOW fatigue to usher in that expansion’s arrival.

Today, the Irvine-based developer said that its subscriber base had exceeded 11 million in the world. Adding a little colour to that number, Wow’s citizenship would rank just higher than the total population of Greece, according to the Central Intelligence Agency’s World Fact Book.

As exhibited in Blizzard parent company Vivendi SA’s recent financial described, World of Warcraft has been on the cusp of hitting 11 million subscribers since July. Today’s milestone comes just over 10 months since Blizzard touted Wow’s 10 millionth subscribers in January.

As Blizzard uses a variety of payment plans in different countries, the publisher defines “subscriber” thusly: “World of Warcraft subscribers include individuals who have paid a payment fee or have an active prepaid card to play World of Warcraft, as well as those who have bought the game and are within their free month of access. Internet Game Room players who have come into the game over the last month are also counted as payers. The above delimitation includes all players under free promotional payments, ended or cancelled subscriptions, and expired prepaid cards. Subscribers in licensees’ territories are explained along the same rules.”

World of Warcraft subscribers hail from a number of countries and regions, including New Zealand, Taiwan , North America, Europe,Malaysia,China, Argentina ,Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Chile, Hong Kong, Korea, and Macau. Most recently, WOW was launched in Russia and Latin America.

First up was Rob Pardo, executive vice president of game like world of war craft design of the Irvine, California-based Blizzard. The executive was asked about when the recently revealed role-playing game Diablo III would appear in stores. At BlizzCon, the game was convenient playable form to the populace for the first time.

“Even though it looks really finish, a lot of the content is just not there,” he said referring to the polished gameplay footage touted at the event like word of war craft. “We have a long ways to go to construct each of the unlike acts in the game and put in all the quests and all the unlike centaurs. We have a lot of development ahead of us before it will be something…It will clearly be out after Starcraft II.”

Starcraft II’s transformation into a trilogy was the big news at BlizzCon 2008. However, lurking in the shadows was Blizzard’s mystery massively multiplayer online game, which was first revealed via an official forum post in December 2007. Wired asked another Blizzard luminary, CEO Mike Morhaime, whether the project was not a World of Warcraft sequel, which the company has ruled out in the past.

“It does not going to be a World of Warcraft continuation,” the executive repeated. “It will be unlike. We’re not trying to supply World of Warcraft with this new MMO. We’re trying to make a unlike massively multiplayer happening, and hopefully, World of Warcraft will still be going strong when that one is relieved.”

“We definitely aren’t adapting World of Warcraft to the console at this time,” Kaplan began. “But that’s not to say that other MMOs couldn’t [work well on consoles]. And we have a pretty savvy group of console developers–a lot of the guys we received from [Starcraft: Ghost developer] Swingin’ Ape really know what they’re doing on next-gen consoles. So we might have a few deceives up our sleeves in that consider.”

For a developer who hasn’t made a game like world of warcraft for comforts this century, dispute over Blizzard’s non-PC plans has been plentiful. Dating back as far as Diablo II and churning up a maelstrom through the now indefinitely delayed Starcraft: Ghost, speculation has swirled, often for naught, over the developer’s schedule.

Still, it’s worth noting that Blizzard has emitted a number of strong indicators that its unannounced MMOG will arrive for consoles. Most notably, the aforementioned job listings for Blizzard’s new online game prominently count experience shipping “console titles” as a plus.
